October 2023 Pumpkin Patch @ Ridley Park Christ Church
Please consider visiting the Pumpkin Patch at Christ Church in Ridley Park. The pumpkins are from the Navajo Native Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico. Your purchase of a pumpkin supports the Navajo Nation and indigenous agriculture. In addition, 10% of sales will go to the Ridley Park Food Pantry here at the Ridley Park United Methodist Church and 10% will go to support the outdoor education program at Eddystone Elementary School.
The Pumpkin Patch Hours are:
Weekdays & Sundays – 11AM – 7PM
Saturdays – 9AM – 7PM

Sunday, October 8, 2023 – Sunday School for Children and Youth Begins
Sunday School for Children and Youth begins on October 8 at 9:30 AM. We will meet in the Nursery to begin and eventually move downstairs to a refurbished room. Children of all ages, Tots to Teens, are invited to attend and we will use a One-Room Sunday School Curriculum. Adults who wish to be involved as facilitators or snack providers are welcome to reach out to Pastor Maria.
Sunday, October 8, 2023 @ 2PM – Blessing of Pets
In honor of the feast of St. Francis, we invite you to bring your caged, crated, and leashed pets on Sunday October 8th at 2PM, to the lawn behind the parsonage, weather permitting, for a special blessing. We will move indoors if necessary.
Saturday, October 7, 2023 – Drive Up Food Collection @ Ridley Park Fire Company
The Auxiliary of Ridley Park Fire Company #1 will be holding a drive up food collection to support the Food Bank at Ridley Park United Methodist Church. Drive up to the Fire Company ramp to drop off your donation 9AM-12PM.
Friday, October 6, 2023 – Delco Regional Youth Ministry @ Norwood UMC
The Delco Regional Youth Ministry is anticipated to begin on October 6 at Norwood UMC from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM under the leadership of Rev. Mike Nelson. Meetings will be held every Friday in October from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Norwood UMC before rotating to the next church (TBD). Rotations will continue each month. Youth in grades 6 to 12 are welcome.

Classical Guitar Concert hosted at Ridley Park UMC
Brad Rau has been selected for the 2019 Best of Chester Springs Award in the Music Performers & Teachers category by the Chester Springs Aware Program. Brad recently recorded a Studio Concert on WSHU 89.9 FM with host Kate Remington and has been a featured performer twice on Live WRTI 90.1 FM Performance Studio.
Brad received a scholarship to attend New England Conservatory and received a Master’s degree in 2015 with academic honors. At NEC, he studied classical guitar under Elio Fisk who was the last pupil of Andres Segovia. He continued to study with Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux.
