From the Pastor's Desk -- It's that time again. Schools will soon be out. Folks will be heading "down the shore." Camping season will soon begin. Summer is just about here. It's a time that we typically take things a little slower in some places and get busier in others. We work a little less and play a little more. We spend more time outside working in our yards and flowerbeds and less time inside watching TV. This is how it should be. While you are all out and about doing your Summer things, please remember to make time to worship. Worship can happen in many places and in many ways. If you choose to worship with another congregation, please bring back a bulletin that I can post. I will again, be tracking our travels on a bulletin board in the Narthex. If your choice of worship involves praise music on the beach or in the mountains, let me know what music has inspired you so that it can be shared with the whole congregation. If a book or scripture passage moves you, let me know. I'll pass that along too. By the end of the Summer I would like to have a complied list of all sorts of things that have inspired us in our walk of faith. Another possibility is to worship with RPUMC, but a day or two later. Our worship services are being recorded on tape and CD. I will admit that we have not perfected the CD recordings yet, but the problem is being worked on. if you would like a copy of a worship service call the office. Tape copies are very easy to make. CD copies will take a little longer. Arrangements will be made for you to pick a copy up or maybe someone will be able to drop it off. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth. (Psalm 100NRSV)
However you choose to worship this Summer, "Worship the Lord with gladness." Worship with family and friends. Worship with an open heart and expect something to happen. Then come back in September ready to share your experiences with us.May the God of all grace and peace keep you in His care, Pastor Alice Ann
