CHRIST IS RISEN!

This is the typical greeting and
response for Easter Sunday. We celebrate with great joy the
Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. After all, that's what
Easter is about. There's just one misconception that needs
to be cleared up -- Easter is not just for one day. Easter is a
season within the life of the Church. It's important that we continue to celebrate the Easter Season. It's a time when we remember Jesus' appearances to the disciples before His ascension. During this time we ponder the mysteries of Jesus' death and resurrection and what it really means for our lives. And it's the Season when we start to experience the movement of the Holy Spirit in the newly established Church. Its' during this time that the disciples were empowered to preach the Gospel and to heal people. All of this culminates with Pentecost -- the day when the full force of the Holy Spirit comes upon the disciples. Please don't let the Easter Season be short lived. It's a Season that moves us into the birth of the Church and it deserves all of the excitement and celebration that we can give it. We need all that excitement and celebration to keep preaching the Gospel as Jesus commanded. I would encourage you all to come, worship, and celebrate Easter, the Season of the Resurrection. Let it empower you to a new life with the Risen Savior. |

Lord of Life, By submitting to death you conquered the grave. By being lifted on a cross, you draw all people to you. By being raised from the dead you restored to humanity all that we lost through sin. Throughout these fifty days of Easter we proclaim the marvelous mystery of your death and resurrection. For all praise is yours, now and throughout eternity. Amen. Grace and Peace to you in the name of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lord,
Pastor Alice Ann
